Eyelash Extensions FAQ
Q: What is the difference between a Light Set Eyelash extension and a Full Set Eyelash Extension?
A: A Light set eyelash extension is created to offer a more natural and lighter alternative to a Full set. It's good if you've never gotten extensions before and want to try it out but don't want to pay the full price of a full set. It is literally half the density of a full set.The best way to explain it is, lets say your eye has 100 natural eyelash hairs. A full set would have extensions glued to all 100 hairs. A light set would only have 50 extensions glued making it lighter and more natural.

Q: Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?
A: Eyelash extensions will not damage the natural lashes. We are trained to carefully isolate your lashes one by one and we use lash lengths that will suit your natural lashes. Once you have removed your extensions,  you will have been accustomed to your extensions and it will seem like your natural lashes are shorter or sparser . Do not be alarmed, those are really your natural lashes.

Q: Can I wear mascara or curl my lash extensions?
A:Please do not wear mascara on your eyelash extensions or curl your lashes. The purpose of  having eyelash extensions is so that there is no need to wear mascara or curl your lashes. Mascara can cause buildup on your extensions and will be harder to clean. Curling your extensions with a lash curler can crimp and damage the extensions.

Q: How long does a full set of eyelash extensions take?
A: Depending on what kind of set you want to get and how much natural lashes you have, it can range anywhere from 1 1/2hr to 2 hrs. Eyelash extension is a very tedious procedure    and requires a lot of patience and precision.

Q: Can I wear eye make-up?

A: Yes you can but please be very careful especially with heavy makeup. Many makeup products have oil in their ingredients and can affect the retention of your extensions, causing them to fall off quicker. Same thing goes for moisturizers, creams, etc. Beware of oil based products!

Q: Can I swim, shower or exercise with my eyelash extensions?
A: Yes BUT you cannot get your eyelash extensions wet for the  first 24-48 hours after getting your set. Your eyelash extension glue has not fully cured before 48 hours and getting them wet can cause the glue to become brittle and fall off. Exercising can cause sweating which can get onto your lashes. If you want to shower after getting eyelash extensions, I suggest you wear swimming goggles or even sunglasses to prevent the steam from hitting your eyes otherwise, the glue can start to sting your eyes.

Q: Is the eyelash extension glue safe?
A: The glue that we use is a quality medical grade glue that is formaldehyde and latex free, the main ingredient is cyanoacrylate. Although it is rare for an allergic reaction to occur especially since we use a latex and formaldehyde free adhesive, it can happen. Please be aware of what you may be allergic to.

Q: What kind of lashes do you use?
A: The ONLY lash extension lashes that we use are "synthetic mink" made from a type of polyester. They closely resemble real mink but they last longer, are curlier and there is no animal cruelty!

Q: What is a fill and how often should I come for a fill?

A: A fill appointment is needed if you want to maintain your eyelash extension set. As time goes by, your lashes would have shed, fallen off, grown and out grown. In order to keep your lashes maintained, a fill is needed to fill in the areas that need lash extensions and also to remove any out grown lashes. A fill is to be done between 2-3 weeks after your initial set. You must have at least 50% of you lashes left otherwise it will be considered a full set. A fill typically takes an hour.

Q: Is it ok for me to have extensions if I have mono-lids or hooded lids?
A: Of course! There are different curl shapes designed to work with whatever eyelids you have.

Q: How do I prep for the appointment?
A: Please come in to your appointment without make-up on your eyes. If you plan on washing your hair or showering, I suggest you to do that before the appointment to avoid getting your extensions wet.

Q: Why is my real lash attached to my extension when they fall out?
A:It is natural for your real lash to be attached to your extensions as they fall out. It is part of your lash cycle. A person sheds on average 5 lashes per day. No need to worry!

Q: What is the aftercare for eyelash extensions?
A:
  • Do not get them wet for the first 24-48 hours. Hot showers or sauna steams will  affect the glue from  bonding properly as well.
  • Do not use oil-based makeup, cleaners or any products containing oil
  • Brush lashes daily to re-position them.
  • PLEASE try to sleep on your back. Sleeping on your side or stomach can cause lashes to fall out quicker
  • DO NOT curl your lashes with a curler
  • Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes/ lashes
  • Avoid strong heat such as ovens or BBQs, heat can melt or distort your lashes.
  • Gently cleanse your lashes with an oil free cleanser to avoid  dirt and oil build-up on your lash line
  • If anything shall occur please contact your lash technician, do not take matters to your own hands.
  • Schedule a refill every 2-3 weeks to maintain your lashes.

Lash Lift FAQ

Q: What is a lash lift?
A: A lash lift is a procedure where your natural lashes are attached to a silicone shaping pad and solution is added to  semi-permanently alter the curl of your natural lashes. This service can take about an hour.

Q: How long do lash lifts last?

A: Lash lifts can last anywhere from 1-2 Months. It varies  depending on how fast or slow your natural lashes grow and shed. As they grow out, some lashes will be curled and some will be straight.

Q: I have really short lashes, can I still get a lash lift?
A: It can be done but the outcome will not be significant compared to people who have naturally long lashes.

Q: Can I curl my lashes and wear mascara?
A: There is no need for a lash curler, the purpose of a lash lift  is the permanently lift your lashes until they grow out. If you want a more dramatic effect, mascara is recommended!

Q: What is the aftercare for a lash lift?

A: Do not get them wet for 24 Hrs

Q:  Why is this service SEMI-Permanent and not permanent?
A: Permanent implies that your lashes will forever stay curly after the service. That is not the case. Your lashes will stay curly and lifted after the service but everyone have lashes that shed and will naturally grow back straight. Thus it is a semi-permanent procedure and maintenance is require.

Q: What is the difference between a lash lift and lash relax?
A: Lash lift is the chemical process of semi-permanently changing your straight natural eyelashes into a lifted curl. Lash relaxing is the chemical process of semi-permanently changing your curled natural (or previously lifted) eyelashes to straight.

BROW LAMINATION FAQ

Q: What is a brow lamination?
A: Brow lamination or also known as a brow lift is a new and popular treatment where a technician takes the eyebrow hairs and reposition them to give it an illusion of a fuller set of eyebrows. Not only that, it also gives it a bushier, and fluffier look. If your eyebrows are on the sparser side, it will have more of a “feathered” effect. Most people have eyebrow hairs growing in a downward direction. By repositioning them in an upward angle, it will cover more of the brow area and will look fuller and thicker. This is not a tattoo, this is not microblading, this is not tinting. This is basically a PERM for your eyebrows.

Q: How long does the service take?:
A: It is a fairly quick service, it takes anywhere from 45 minutes- 1 hour depending on the thickness of your eyebrow hairs (the thicker they are the longer it will take to process).
Q: How long does a brow lamination last?
A: It varies from person to person and is mainly due to a persons hair growth cycle. Some people will have hairs grow and shed quicker while some will take longer. On average, it can last anywhere from 4-8 weeks.
Q: What are the requirements for brow lamination?
A: HAVE EYEBROW HAIRS !
(If you are unsure, you can send me a photo of your eyebrows.)
